Title: After 5.7, Neomadecale: The Environment Has Changed, Why Did It Flop?
In a blink, Genshin Impact has reached 5.7, followed by the update of 5.8, where players will embark on a region called Neomadecale. The developers have been extensively promoting Neomadecale from the start, but I believe it will flop. Do you think so?
Firstly, there is a problem with the overall atmosphere of Genshin Impact. Since the Natura version, the game’s experience has become less comfortable. Why is this? It’s simple—the overall atmosphere has changed, no longer resembling the previous one. Frequent events and high-quality content hide a severe reduction in content, leaving players unable to experience the high-quality storylines of the Fengtian era.
Secondly, the current Genshin Impact players cannot endure excessive grinding. In the past, one could say that Genshin Impact was challenging and satisfying for players, but now, the players are no longer capable of handling it. This is not the fault of the players; it’s mainly due to the developers’ manipulative strategies. Initially, Genshin Impact players were quite diligent, but the developers have gradually reduced the difficulty of grinding, causing players to become somewhat unadapted to it.
Lastly, Neomadecale’s positioning is extremely awkward. It is an entirely separate region from the original game’s elements, presenting a self-contained world. This makes players accustomed to the seven elements of Genshin Impact curious about what Neomadecale’s positioning will be. Players who were expecting Nezha’s Winter are also dissatisfied, as they will have to wait another year for it. Neomadecale is unlikely to survive without collapsing.
So, why did the developers insist on creating Neomadecale? Actually, talking about adding more depth to the game’s world and storyline is just a deceptive tactic. In reality, I believe they did this to extend Genshin Impact’s lifespan. Initially, the developers had set the world and script too rigidly, fixing the seven elements and seven nations, but they soon realized that Genshin Impact was too popular to be stopped. As a result, they had to find ways to extend its lifespan by applying patches.
As a result, we see the emergence of Neomadecale. However, why do I say it will flop? It’s simple—the developers are also tired. After traversing five major versions, it is clear that Genshin Impact’s high-quality content has become exhausted. The game has consistently maintained high-quality outputs in terms of plot, art, and music, but due to insufficient production capacity, content has become repetitive or superficial. This can be clearly felt from the activities in these versions.
